Product Details
The Ubiquiti SuperLink Glass Break Sensor is described by Ubiquiti as a battery-powered SuperLink sensor featuring advanced glass break detection and motion sensing. A SuperLink Gateway is required.
It listens and it watches. A microphone picks up the sound of breaking glass and a PIR sensor covers movement in the same room, so one device handles both the perimeter and what happens after it is crossed. The rated glass is: plate, tempered, obscured, laminated, coated and wired glass, in panes from 280 by 356 mm up to 1067 by 1626 mm, at thicknesses of 2.4, 3.2, 4.8 and 6.4 mm. A shop front of oversized laminated panels is a different proposition from a domestic window, and this spec is where that gets settled.
Everything runs over SuperLink, Ubiquiti's proprietary wireless link, at up to 2 km line of sight — so the sensor goes where the glass is, not where the cabling reaches, and the whole thing lives in UniFi Protect alongside the cameras. Two CR123A lithium cells give up to three years of life, and there is a tamper switch for removal from the wall. It mounts flat on a wall or into a corner, by adhesive pad or screws. Bear in mind it is an indoor sensor with no published ingress rating, and that the SuperLink Gateway is a separate purchase — the sensor does nothing without one.
