Description
Ubiquiti UNAS Pro 4
Product Details
The Ubiquiti UNAS Pro 4 is described by Ubiquiti as a 1U rack-mount NAS with four 2.5/3.5″ HDD bays and two M.2 NVMe SSD cache slots, delivering faster access, lower latency, and high-availability 10 Gbps networking for large-scale file storage and sharing.
The UNAS Pro 4 runs UniFi Drive, not UniFi Protect — it has no UniFi Protect application and does not appear in Ubiquiti's camera-limit tables. It is storage for a site, not a recorder for cameras. Ubiquiti's own copy mentioning surveillance workloads and edge surveillance environments means storage serving those places, not an NVR. If cameras need recording, the box is a Network Video Recorder G2.
What it does do, it does well. Four 2.5 or 3.5 inch bays with RAID 5, 6 or 10, two M.2 NVMe slots for read caching up to 4 TiB, NFS and SMB file sharing, personal and shared drives, snapshots, file encryption, share links, Time Machine backup and scheduled backup to a remote UNAS, an SMB server or Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2 and Wasabi. Networking is two 10G SFP+ ports and a gigabit RJ45; the SFP+ ports are 10G only and will not negotiate 1G. There is no iSCSI on this model — that is the Enterprise NAS. Drives are not included.
