The TOA TS-D1000-M1 is the standard gooseneck microphone for the digital conference system's chairman and delegate units. TOA describes it as “a dedicated component” whose “mic head is equipped with an illuminated display ring that allows the status of the units in use to be monitored at a glance”.
The conference units do not include a microphone, so one of these is required per seat. The choice between the two is table depth: this one is 518 mm (1.7 ft), and the alternative is the TS-D1000-M2 long type at 668 mm. A long microphone on a shallow table puts the head where people want to put their papers; a standard microphone across a wide council desk leaves the talker reaching forward.
It is a unidirectional electret condenser capsule, 1.4 kΩ, −37 dB sensitivity, 100 Hz to 13 kHz, on an XLR-3-12C connector. The gooseneck is stainless steel in black. It fits the TS-D1000-CU chairman unit and the TS-D1000-DU delegate unit, and nothing else — the infrared system's microphones use a different four-pin connector.
