The TOA SC-630TU is the UL-listed version of the SC-630T — electrically the same 30 W, 113 dB horn on a 25 V or 70.7 V line, listed to UL 1480 and ULC-S541 for use in emergency communication and life-safety systems.
That listing is the reason to choose it, and it is not a detail to substitute around: where a system is designed for emergency voice communication, the speakers have to carry the listing or the installation will not pass inspection. It also takes a much wider temperature range than the standard SC-630T — −40 °F to 151 °F against −4 °F to 131 °F — so it holds up in unconditioned and extreme locations.
The housing is rated IP65 against dust and water: an aluminum horn flare with powder coating, an ABS reflector and rear cover, and stainless steel bracket and fixings, which is what lets it live outdoors without the hardware rusting into the wall. A mounting bracket is supplied with the speaker. The standard, non-UL-listed version is the SC-630T.
