The WA-2 is a wireless subwoofer kit: a transmitter and receiver pair that sends the LFE or bass signal from a receiver or processor to a compatible subwoofer without running a cable across the room. It replaces the long, thick and often expensive subwoofer interconnect that otherwise dictates where the subwoofer can go.
That matters acoustically, not just cosmetically. Subwoofer placement has a large effect on how bass loads a room, and being free of the cable run means the sub can go where it actually sounds best.
It operates in the 2.4GHz ISM band with automatic dynamic channel selection over a 50' range, and coexists with home wireless networks and cordless phones without interference in either direction. No manual pairing is required — the transmitter finds the receiver on first power-up. Up to four WA-2 kits can run simultaneously in an average household.
A gain control on the transmitter compensates for the differing output levels of different receivers and processors. The kit works with Klipsch Group subwoofers fitted with a WA port: Klipsch SW-110, SW-112, SW-308, SW-310 and SW-311; Energy ESW-M6 and ESW-M8; Mirage MM-6 and MM-8; and the Jamo Sub 800.
