Description
Klipsch RP-500SA II Walnut, Pair
Product Details
The Klipsch RP-500SA II is a Dolby Atmos elevation speaker, sold as a pair. It can sit on top of a floorstanding speaker and fire at the ceiling to create overhead effects without installing in-ceiling speakers, or be wall-mounted and used as a conventional surround.
A 90° x 90° silicon composite hybrid Tractrix horn sits at the center of the design. Horn loading raises efficiency and focuses high frequencies toward the listening position, while the phase plug and compression-molded silicon face keep the response smooth. The second-generation horn is larger than the original Reference Premiere, widening the soundstage and improving directivity.
Behind the horn is Klipsch's Linear Travel Suspension titanium diaphragm tweeter. LTS minimizes distortion by keeping the diaphragm's motion linear through its travel — a hallmark of every Reference line Klipsch has built.
The angled cabinet is voiced to Dolby Atmos specification for the reflected-height role. Dolby Atmos jumpers are included for use with Reference Premiere floorstanding speakers that provide Atmos passthrough on their binding posts, along with eight rubber feet. Cabinets are internally braced MDF in scratch-resistant ebony vinyl with satin-painted baffles. The grille is magnetically attached and fully removable, so the speaker moves between showpiece and discreet without hardware on the baffle.
