Product Details
The Klipsch RP-500M II is a compact two-way bookshelf speaker with a 5.25" Cerametallic woofer, sold as a pair. At 13.56" tall it suits stands, shelves and desktops, and reaches 50Hz at 92dB sensitivity.
A 90° x 90° silicon composite hybrid Tractrix horn sits at the center of the design. Horn loading raises efficiency and focuses high frequencies toward the listening position, while the phase plug and compression-molded silicon face keep the response smooth. The second-generation horn is larger than the original Reference Premiere, widening the soundstage and improving directivity.
Cerametallic cone woofers are exceptionally rigid and light for their mass, which keeps cone break-up out of the passband. Faraday rings and aluminum shorting rings in the redesigned motor reduce distortion and increase power handling, with better transient control than the first-generation Reference Premiere.
Cork pads replace rubber bumpers on the base for secure placement on a stand or table. Cabinets are internally braced MDF in scratch-resistant ebony vinyl with satin-painted baffles. The grille is magnetically attached and fully removable, so the speaker moves between showpiece and discreet without hardware on the baffle.
