The Klipsch RP-500C II is the compact center channel of the Reference Premiere II line, with dual 5.25" Cerametallic woofers either side of the Tractrix horn. At 6.87" tall and 19.34" wide it fits under a television or inside a media cabinet where the larger RP-504C II will not.
A 90° x 90° silicon composite hybrid Tractrix horn sits at the center of the design. Horn loading raises efficiency and focuses high frequencies toward the listening position, while the phase plug and compression-molded silicon face keep the response smooth. The second-generation horn is larger than the original Reference Premiere, widening the soundstage and improving directivity.
Behind the horn is Klipsch's Linear Travel Suspension titanium diaphragm tweeter. LTS minimizes distortion by keeping the diaphragm's motion linear through its travel — a hallmark of every Reference line Klipsch has built.
A rear-firing Tractrix port takes response down to 56Hz. Cabinets are internally braced MDF in scratch-resistant ebony vinyl with satin-painted baffles. The grille is magnetically attached and fully removable, so the speaker moves between showpiece and discreet without hardware on the baffle.
