The Klipsch RP-5000F II is a two-way floorstanding speaker with dual 5.25" Cerametallic woofers, the compact tower in the Reference Premiere II line. It reaches 40Hz at 95dB sensitivity in a cabinet narrow enough for rooms where a full-size tower will not fit.
A 90° x 90° silicon composite hybrid Tractrix horn sits at the center of the design. Horn loading raises efficiency and focuses high frequencies toward the listening position, while the phase plug and compression-molded silicon face keep the response smooth. The second-generation horn is larger than the original Reference Premiere, widening the soundstage and improving directivity.
Cerametallic cone woofers are exceptionally rigid and light for their mass, which keeps cone break-up out of the passband. Faraday rings and aluminum shorting rings in the redesigned motor reduce distortion and increase power handling, with better transient control than the first-generation Reference Premiere.
Dual aluminum binding posts allow bi-wiring or bi-amping, and include Dolby Atmos passthrough for feeding a Klipsch RP-500SA II elevation speaker placed on top of the cabinet. Cabinets are internally braced MDF in scratch-resistant ebony vinyl with satin-painted baffles. The grille is magnetically attached and fully removable, so the speaker moves between showpiece and discreet without hardware on the baffle.
