The Klipsch RP-404C II is a slim sealed center channel with quad 4" Cerametallic woofers. At 5.72" tall and 6.47" deep it is built for tight spaces — under a wall-mounted television or on a shallow shelf — while still presenting four woofers to the room for 94dB sensitivity and 125W / 500W power handling.
A 90° x 90° silicon composite hybrid Tractrix horn sits at the center of the design. Horn loading raises efficiency and focuses high frequencies toward the listening position, while the phase plug and compression-molded silicon face keep the response smooth. The second-generation horn is larger than the original Reference Premiere, widening the soundstage and improving directivity.
Behind the horn is Klipsch's Linear Travel Suspension titanium diaphragm tweeter. LTS minimizes distortion by keeping the diaphragm's motion linear through its travel — a hallmark of every Reference line Klipsch has built.
Unlike the ported RP-500C II and RP-504C II, the RP-404C II uses a sealed enclosure, which keeps it predictable when placed close to a wall or inside a cabinet where a port would be loaded unevenly. Cabinets are internally braced MDF in scratch-resistant ebony vinyl with satin-painted baffles. The grille is magnetically attached and fully removable, so the speaker moves between showpiece and discreet without hardware on the baffle.
