The RF-7 III is the top of the Klipsch Reference floorstanding line and one of the most efficient loudspeakers on the market at 100dB sensitivity — which means it will play loud and clean on modest amplifier power, and reveal exactly what the amplifier upstream is doing.
Two 10" spun-copper Cerametallic woofers work in a dual-chambered, bifurcated enclosure so each driver and its rear-firing Tractrix port operate independently of the other. That improves the linearity of both drive systems and suppresses the internal standing waves that color a single large cabinet.
High frequencies are handled by a 1.75" titanium diaphragm compression driver on an 8.5" square 90° x 90° Tractrix horn. The driver's phase plug improves phase coherency at the horn throat; the horn itself pairs a circular throat to a square mouth, with compression-molded rubber construction damping the high frequencies to reduce harshness.
Dual binding posts allow bi-wiring or bi-amping. This is the walnut finish. RF-7 III enclosures are designed and made in the USA in Hope, Arkansas, using domestic and imported components.
