The Klipsch RC-64 III is the flagship Reference center channel: quad 6.5" Cerametallic woofers around a 1.75" titanium compression driver on a 6.25" square Tractrix horn, with 99dB sensitivity and 200W/800W power handling. At 35.8" wide and 55 lbs it is built to match full-size Reference towers rather than fit discreetly under a television.
The large-format compression driver is the reason this center holds dialogue together at reference volume where a dome tweeter would compress. Two crossover points — 1,000Hz and 1,400Hz — hand off between the four woofers and the horn gradually rather than at a single abrupt transition.
The enclosure is sealed rather than ported, which keeps the center channel tight and predictable when placed in a cabinet or against a wall. Dual binding posts allow bi-wiring or bi-amping. Black Ash finish.
