Product Details
The Klipsch R-40SA is a Dolby Atmos elevation speaker, sold as a pair. It sits on top of a floorstanding or bookshelf speaker and fires at the ceiling, reflecting height effects down to the listening position — Atmos without cutting into ceilings or running wire overhead.
The angled cabinet is voiced to Dolby Atmos specification for the reflected-height role, and can also be wall mounted and used as a conventional surround. Four rubber feet are included for placing it on top of another speaker without marking the cabinet.
A 1" aluminum LTS tweeter sits on a 90° x 90° square Tractrix horn. Horn loading raises efficiency and directs high frequencies toward the listening area rather than scattering them off walls and ceiling, which is what gives Klipsch Reference speakers their characteristic clarity at low amplifier power. The cabinet is MDF in scratch-resistant black textured wood-grain vinyl, with a removable magnetic grille and gold-plated binding posts.
