The IC-8T-SW mud ring kit adds mounting flexibility to the Klipsch ICSW-8T2 commercial in-ceiling subwoofer when they are installed in drywall. These are pre-construction brackets: they attach to the ceiling joists before the Sheetrock goes up, fixing speaker placement in advance and telling the drywall contractor exactly where the through-hole belongs.
Construction is durable zinc-plated 20 gauge steel, so the bracket holds its shape through the rest of the build and keeps the speaker aperture true once the ceiling is finished. The zinc plating and 20 gauge steel make it suitable for plenum spaces. Part 061347 is sold singly, packaged in an individual carton.
Doing the placement at the framing stage is the difference between a run of ceiling speakers that lines up with the lighting and one that does not — and it removes the guesswork from cutting a finished ceiling.
