The Klipsch KI-262-SMA-II is a 12" two-way commercial loudspeaker in a 22.5° trapezoidal cabinet, built for suspended permanent install. It shares the K-281-EP 12" woofer and K-70-G 1.75" titanium compression driver of the KI-272, in a vertical trapezoidal enclosure rather than a horizontal one.
The 60° x 40° pattern is the transpose of the KI-272's — wider horizontally, tighter vertically — which suits covering a broad seating area from a single high position without wasting output on the ceiling. The trapezoidal sides let multiple cabinets be arrayed into a horizontal cluster with no gaps between them.
A KLIP overload protection circuit guards the high-frequency driver. Sixteen 3/8"-16 fly points plus two 5/16"-18 threaded holes top and bottom allow suspension, rigging-bar or C-bracket mounting.
The enclosure is CNC-fabricated 3/4" seven-ply birch plywood assembled with rabbet and dado joinery, with a 1" MDF motorboard. Black and white cabinets use a lacquer-based finish. Raw Birch is supplied unfinished, for installations where the cabinet will be painted or stained to match the room. Signal connection is via a two-point barrier strip, the standard for permanent commercial install.
