Description
Klipsch KI-215-R-SMA-II Raw, Each
Product Details
The Klipsch KI-215-SMA-II is a dual 15" commercial subwoofer designed to partner Klipsch's high-power full-range install loudspeakers. Its enclosure dimensions and rigging configuration are identical to the KI-362-SMA-II, so the two stack and fly together as a single mechanical unit when driven from an external active two-way crossover.
Two K-45-ST 15" woofers with 3" voice coils and 104-ounce magnets give 105dB sensitivity and 136dB peak SPL — the output required for clubs, theatres, auditoriums and performance halls rather than a large living room. Cabinet tuning is deliberately low at 40Hz, which leaves headroom for electronic EQ to extend response further without putting undue stress on the drivers.
The 22.5° symmetrical trapezoidal cabinet is what makes this a permanent-install speaker rather than a box on a stand: the angled sides let multiple cabinets be arrayed tightly together into a horizontal cluster with no gaps, so coverage patterns join cleanly instead of overlapping and cancelling. It is a designed array match for the KI-396, KI-262 and KI-272 when using an external active crossover.
Sixteen 3/8"-16 fly points (four per side) allow flexible suspension and rigging-bar compatibility, with additional top and bottom attachment points for a C-bracket. The enclosure is CNC-fabricated 3/4" seven-ply birch plywood with a 1" MDF motorboard, assembled with rabbet and dado joinery.
Black and white cabinets use a lacquer-based finish. Raw Birch is supplied unfinished, for installations where the cabinet will be painted or stained to match the room. Signal connection is via a two-point barrier strip, the standard for permanent commercial install.
