The Klipsch IK-504-W in-wall install kit provides mounting support for several Klipsch residential in-wall speakers — the KL-6502-THX, KL-6504-THX, PRO-6502-L-THX and PRO-6504-L-THX (all sold separately).
It incorporates a color-coded mud ring for quick size identification, a breakaway wire tie and multi-position snap-fit wings. The metal wings fasten to studs with screws, staples or nails and are ribbed for rigidity across the bay.
Fitting the kit before drywall establishes the exact speaker position and gives the cutout a clean, square edge — the difference between a speaker that looks installed and one that looks cut in.
