FireProtect 2 RB (Heat) UL Jeweller detects fire by temperature alone, with two thermistors and no smoke chamber. That suits kitchens, garages, workshops and anywhere steam, dust or exhaust would give an optical detector false alarms.
The thermistors are mounted outside the enclosure so heat reaches them without the delay of warming the housing first, which is what makes it react quickly to burning synthetic materials. The high-temperature alarm triggers above 135 °F. With no smoke chamber the body is noticeably smaller than the smoke models. FireProtect 2 is a next-generation detector for residential fire safety. It sounds an 85 dB siren of its own and pushes a critical alert through the Ajax apps, and when interconnection is enabled every FireProtect 2 in the system sounds within 20 seconds — so an alarm in an empty back room is heard at the front of the building.
Two pre-installed CR123A batteries give up to 5 years of operation. They are replaceable, so at the end of that life an installer fits new cells rather than replacing the detector, and low-battery warnings arrive by push, sound and LED at least 30 days before discharge. The SmartBracket mounting panel fits without disassembling the detector and allows a 90° rotation adjustment, and the device pairs with the hub by QR code. Supplied in the black finish; the same detector in white is stocked as 95194.168.WH3.
