FireProtect 2 RB (Heat/Smoke/CO) UL Jeweller is the fullest of the range: a dual-spectrum optical smoke sensor, a heat sensor and a chemical carbon monoxide sensor in one detector. CO is colourless and odourless, so poisoning happens unnoticed — this is the only sensor in the range that catches it.
CO alarm thresholds follow the standard time-weighted curve: 70 ppm in 60–240 minutes, 150 ppm in 10–50 minutes, 400 ppm in 4–15 minutes. The CO sensor has a 10-year service life. The high-temperature alarm triggers above 135 °F. FireProtect 2 is a next-generation detector for residential fire safety. It sounds an 85 dB siren of its own and pushes a critical alert through the Ajax apps, and when interconnection is enabled every FireProtect 2 in the system sounds within 20 seconds — so an alarm in an empty back room is heard at the front of the building.
Two pre-installed CR123A batteries give up to 5 years of operation. They are replaceable, so at the end of that life an installer fits new cells rather than replacing the detector, and low-battery warnings arrive by push, sound and LED at least 30 days before discharge. The SmartBracket mounting panel fits without disassembling the detector and allows a 90° rotation adjustment, and the device pairs with the hub by QR code. Supplied in the black finish; the same detector in white is stocked as 68697.137.WH3.
