FireProtect 2 RB (Heat/Smoke) UL Jeweller combines a dual-spectrum optical smoke sensor with a heat sensor. The dual-spectrum optics tell smoke from steam and dust instantly, and the patented smoke chamber is sealed against insects and needs no regular cleaning — which is what removes the maintenance visit that conventional optical detectors require.
Two thermistors sit outside the enclosure so a fast, smokeless fire in synthetic materials is caught without the delay of heat reaching an internal sensor. The high-temperature alarm triggers above 135 °F. FireProtect 2 is a next-generation detector for residential fire safety. It sounds an 85 dB siren of its own and pushes a critical alert through the Ajax apps, and when interconnection is enabled every FireProtect 2 in the system sounds within 20 seconds — so an alarm in an empty back room is heard at the front of the building.
Two pre-installed CR123A batteries give up to 5 years of operation. They are replaceable, so at the end of that life an installer fits new cells rather than replacing the detector, and low-battery warnings arrive by push, sound and LED at least 30 days before discharge. The SmartBracket mounting panel fits without disassembling the detector and allows a 90° rotation adjustment, and the device pairs with the hub by QR code. Supplied in the white finish; the same detector in black is stocked as 68696.136.BL3.
