MotionProtect Jeweller is a wireless indoor IR motion detector that notifies of an intrusion into a home or office. It detects a person by the temperature difference against background thermal radiation, and mounts on the wall in front of doors and other entry points.
Motion is detected at up to 39 ft with an 88.5° horizontal angle, at movement speeds from 1 to 6.6 ft/s, across three adjustable sensitivity levels. Pet immunity covers animals up to 44 lb in weight and 1.6 ft in height when the detector is installed correctly. The pre-installed CR123A battery gives up to 5 years of operation, and Jeweller radio reaches up to 5,600 ft in open space.
All Ajax motion detectors use PIR sensors by Excelitas Technologies, an American manufacturer specializing in optronic components since 1931. Ajax tests 100% of manufactured devices at the production stage. The SmartBracket panel lets an installer mount the device on the wall without disassembling the enclosure, and the detector pairs with the hub by scanning a QR code. Correct installation at a height of 2.4 m with the lens perpendicular to the likely intrusion path is what delivers the stated detection pattern and pet immunity. It can be reconfigured remotely from the Ajax apps without a site visit. Supplied in the black finish. The same device in white is stocked as 42823.09.WH3.
