DoorProtect Jeweller is a wireless reed-switch opening detector for doors, windows and skylights. It reports the moment a protected opening is separated from its magnet, which is the simplest and most reliable way to catch an intrusion at the point of entry.
The British-made reed switch is rated for more than 2 million openings and sits in a sealed plastic capsule. Two magnet sizes ship in the box so the detector fits narrow window and door frames as well as standard ones, and vibrations shorter than 0.15 s are ignored so contact chatter does not raise an alarm. Jeweller radio reaches up to 3,900 ft in open space and the pre-installed CR123A battery lasts up to 7 years.
Terminals accept a third-party wired detector with a normally closed (NC) contact, so an existing sensor can be brought onto the Ajax system through this device rather than replaced. The Chime feature turns it into a doorbell: with the system disarmed, an opening plays one of four short beep patterns through the hub and sirens. The SmartBracket panel lets an installer mount the device on the wall without disassembling the enclosure, and the detector pairs with the hub by scanning a QR code. Correct installation at a height of 2.4 m with the lens perpendicular to the likely intrusion path is what delivers the stated detection pattern and pet immunity. It can be reconfigured remotely from the Ajax apps without a site visit. Supplied in the black finish. The same device in white is stocked as 42798.03.WH3.
