Product Details
The 6V PSU (type A) is a replacement power board that lets an Ajax hub or range extender run from a low-voltage DC source instead of mains. It takes 4.2 to 10 V and delivers a regulated 4.8 V at up to 1.5 A to the hub.
It fits inside the hub or range extender enclosure in place of the standard 110/230 V board, so nothing hangs outside the case. The usual reasons to fit one are a site running on a battery bank or solar, a vehicle installation, or a location where a mains socket is not available where the hub has to go.
It is an electronic board and Ajax is explicit that it should be installed by a qualified electrician only. Compatible with Hub 2, Hub 2 Plus and ReX 2; the higher-voltage 12-24V PSU (type A) covers 8 to 32 V inputs if the source is a 12 or 24 V supply rather than a low-voltage battery.
