ExternalAntenna moves a hub's aerial outside its casing. It covers 698 to 960 MHz and 1,710 to 2,690 MHz, which spans both the cellular bands and the Jeweller and Wings radio channels, and connects by SMA on a 9.84-inch lead.
It earns its place where the hub has to live somewhere the signal does not reach: a metal cabinet, a basement plant room, the back of a warehouse. Moving the aerial a few inches outside the enclosure often recovers a connection that the hub could not hold on its own, which is cheaper than relocating the hub and rerunning its cabling.
It mounts with pre-applied double-sided tape and runs out through the casing holes. Ajax builds in breakage detection, so a cut or disconnected antenna raises a notification to the user and the monitoring company rather than degrading quietly. Rated −40 °F to 185 °F and 95% humidity.
