SideButton (1-gang) [120] is the touch panel for the two ends of a multi-gang Ajax LightSwitch. Ajax's own wording is that it is used when the switch is installed on the right or left of the device set — one finished outer edge, one edge meeting its neighbor.

At 2.28 inches wide it sits between the other two panels: SoloButton, at 2.8 inches, is for a switch standing on its own with finished edges all round, and CenterButton, at 1.79 inches, is for the middle seats with neighbors on both sides. The three are not interchangeable — the wrong one leaves a gap or will not seat in the frame. Ajax LightSwitch is a modular system rather than a single product: a complete switch is a LightCore relay behind the wall plus a touch-sensitive button panel on the face, held in a frame when two or more sit together. All three are sold separately.

Everything else matches the rest of the range: the whole face is the sensor, it responds to a hand approaching within about half an inch, a soft backlight locates it in the dark, and the panel houses the switch's radio antennas.

Ordering a bank of switches: every multi-gang set takes exactly two SideButtons, one at each end, whatever its size. The rest of the run is CenterButtons — N−2 of them for an N-seat frame — plus one LightCore relay per seat and one Frame (N seats). Supplied in the grey finish; the same panel is stocked in the other seven finishes as 101861.143.WH3 (white), 101862.143.BL3 (black), 101863.143.GP3 (graphite), 101865.143.IV3 (ivory), 101866.143.FG3 (fog), 101868.143.OY3 (oyster), 101869.143.OL3 (olive).
