The Klipsch RP-1600SW is the largest subwoofer in the Reference Premiere line: a 16" ultra-long-throw Cerametallic woofer driven by an 800W RMS (1600W peak) Class D amplifier, reaching 14.5Hz with 125.5dB of maximum acoustic output.
A 16" driver moves substantially more air per excursion than a 12", which means it reaches reference output with less cone travel and therefore less distortion. The front-firing Aerofoil slot port keeps air velocity low at those output levels and allows placement near a wall without the port noise a rear-ported cabinet would produce.
Dual RCA/LFE line inputs and a WA-2 wireless port cover wired and wireless installation. At 110.9 lbs this is a two-person install — worth planning for on delivery.
